GLOMEF Ghana began in 2005 as the Global Media Foundation, and was officially registered as a Non-Governmental Organisation in 2009. What started as a media-focused initiative — using journalism and communication to hold power to account — has grown into a respected development organisation working across governance, human rights, health, livelihoods, agriculture, climate, and gender inclusion.
That growth wasn't a change in who we are. It's the same commitment to transparency, community voice, and accountability that shaped us at the start, now applied to a wider set of challenges facing communities in Ghana today. We're still headquartered in Sunyani, Bono Region, and we still believe that lasting change starts with people having the platforms and information to shape their own future.
Today, GLOMEF Ghana works with government institutions, development partners, civil society organisations, traditional authorities, the media, academia, and local communities to design and deliver programmes rooted in evidence, partnership, and community ownership.
