On 25 September 2026, Sunyani officially launched the Sunyani Adolescent Parliament—a dynamic, youth-led platform designed to give adolescents a meaningful voice and greater participation in local decision-making.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Raphael Godlove Ahenu, CEO of GLOMEF Ghana, emphasized:
“It is critical to involve adolescents in decision-making today, because every choice we make now directly shapes their future.”
The Sunyani Adolescent Parliament goes beyond a single launch event. It creates a platform where young people can raise their concerns, share ideas, engage decision-makers and contribute to solutions affecting their lives and communities.
Together with initiatives such as the Intermediary City Ecosystem Platform (ICEP), this marks an important step toward building inclusive, resilient and youth-responsive cities.
The work has only just begun—but the momentum is growing.
Our young people deserve a seat at the urban governance table, because their voices matter, their ideas matter, and their future matters.
