Our Participatory Video and Most Significant Change (PVMSC) training for adolescents was an absolute blast! And the energy in the room was incredible. It involved 23 passionate adolescents trained under the Resilient City for Adolescents (RCA) project. These adolescents are no longer just the subjects of stories - they’re now the storytellers.
The training was all about getting comfortable behind the lens. Our budding filmmakers dived into the "bread and butter" of cinematography:
Learning how to frame a subject to capture emotion and context.
Exploring how different shot angles can change the entire feel of a story.
Getting hands-on experience with how to actually operate the cameras to get clean, and professional footage.
They didn't just practice; they produced. By the time we wrapped up for the training, the group had successfully documented two powerful stories entirely in their own voices.
Watching them take ownership of their narrative is exactly what this project is about.
